A Summer Programme that's made for everyone.
Our Summer School / Summer Programme is a meaningful and valuable way for students from age 10 until age 18, to discover what it feels to work in a library.
Students discover various different skills such as learning about cataloguing systems, shevling signage, and being able to handle the operations of a library for the duration of their programme.
The GCLMO-S Qualification
The LMA GCLMO (or General Certification of Library Management and Operations) is a certification designed by the Library Monitor Association to reward students with a certificate of completion and record of service, so it can be taken to university and higher education institutions, in the means of increasing their acceptance rate and providing admissions officers with a more comprehensive profile of the student.
Within our Summer Programme
Throughout our summer programme, students are given the ability to explore different aspects of working in a library, from using library cataloguing equipment, organising books, and scanning books into cataloguing software.
Structure of the Day:
From Sunday to Thursday, Students arrive at 10:00AM, and will begin learning promptly at 10:30. The day ends at 2:30PM.
Topics covered during the programme:
Cataloguing systems, integrated library management systems, scanning and shelving of books, book recirculation, how library equipment works.
